The primary purpose of Pre-ETS provided or coordinated by DORS is to help students begin to identify career interests and to learn skills in preparation for transition to employment and/or post-secondary education.
Pre-ETS may be provided in a group or generalized classroom setting and/or an individualized setting and are limited to any or all of the five services outlined below.

Counseling on Opportunities for Enrollment in Comprehensive Transition or Post-Secondary Education Program may include, but is not limited to:

Work-Based Learning Experiences (WBLE) may include opportunities that are available in school, after school, or outside the traditional school setting; however, they must be provided in an integrated setting in the community to the maximum extent possible. DORS and community partners should seek every opportunity to provide work-based learning experiences in integrated settings before providing these services in non-integrated settings. Services may include, but are not limited to:
Note: Students with disabilities may not participate in any paid work experience without a valid Social Security Number or other documents that establish employment eligibility.
Vocational rehabilitation services are any services described in an approved Individualized Plan for Employment or necessary to assist an individual with a disability in preparing for, securing, retaining, and or regaining an employment outcome consistent with the strengths, resources, priorities, concerns, abilities, capabilities, interests, and informed choice of the individual, including:
d. Job Development Preparation (maximum of six hours) – As required, resume and cover letter preparation, and interview preparation.
e. Job Development (issued in 20-hour increments; if more than 60 hours are required, a team meeting and regional administrative approval is needed) – May include preparation and practice of interviewing skills, role play, job placement, and communication support throughout the interview and placement process, and assistance with On-the-Job Training (OJT) coordination in partnership with the DORS regional business services representative.
f. On-site Follow-Up (onboarding, training, and on-the-job mentoring, support and problem resolution) – May be provided when a consumer initially achieves employment for the purpose of stabilizing the employment.
Short-term job coaching and intensive, supported employment job coaching may be provided, as appropriate, including community-based services such as job skills training, monitoring, follow-along, and case management to assist an individual in maintaining employment, from job coaching programs that have been approved by DORS.
